Shohei Ohtani Undergoes MRI After Start Sunday
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels right-handed pitcher Shohei Ohtani recorded just five outs Sunday versus the Astros before exiting the game having walked five batters. Afterwards, he expressed that he felt discomfort in his surgically repaired pitching arm and revealed that he had undergone an MRI, the results of which were not immediately available. Ohtani, who underwent Tommy John surgery in 2018, has combined to walk eight batters and produce a 37.80 ERA across his first two starts in 2020. A two-way star, there is concern surrounding Ohtani, who figured to be a crucial cog in the Angels’ rotation. While he will have until next Sunday to correct issues from his start against Houston, owners will be waiting with baited breath upon the results of his MRI, which will likely be revealed in the coming days.
