Shohei Ohtani Will Bat Leadoff To Begin Year For Angels
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani will reportedly hit leadoff at the beginning of the season, per MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger. The Halos certainly aren't short of quality leadoff options, with Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon also on the roster, but it'll be Ohtani hitting first at least for the start of the season. While the move might slightly impact the 27-year-old's RBI opportunities, more plate appearances are ultimately a good thing for Ohtani. In 639 plate appearances last season, he hit .257 with a .372 on-base percentage, 46 home runs, and 26 stolen bases. He's the top player in fantasy leagues where he has eligibility as both a hitter and pitcher.
