3 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/designated hitter Shohei Ohtani will make his next start on the mound on Friday in the series opener with the Astros, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. Ohtani's latest pitching performance came against the Rangers last Friday, where he earned the win by allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven innings of work. He's been having a great year on the mound and at the plate, as he will enter Friday's outing with a 9-1 record, 2.97 ERA, 1.071 WHIP and 29.7 percent strikeout rate over 112 innings of work.
