Shohei Ohtani Wins Ninth Game
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani continued to dazzle on the mound by earning his ninth win of the season over the Houston Astros in the team's 7-1 win on Wednesday night. Ohtani allowed an earned run on four hits while striking out 12 and walking two in six innings of work. The two-way Japanese star also went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, a run scored and a walk as a hitter. In the last 34 days, Ohtani has a 0.45 ERA, 58 strikeouts and 11 walks in 39 2/3 innings pitched, and he's also slashing .287/.393/.604 with eight home runs in 29 games. The 28-year-old continues to impress as a two-way player and remains a must-start, whether he's on the mound or at the plate.
