4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sixto Sanchez (shoulder) has ramped up his throwing program and is now throwing from flat ground at a distance of 105 feet. Sanchez has been dealing with shoulder inflammation and has not pitched yet this year. Assuming all goes well at this distance, the next step will be for him to throw from 120 feet, then off a mound. He'd face live hitters after that and likely make a few minor league rehab starts before rejoining the Marlins at the big league level. An early June return for the sky-high upside starter seems likely if all goes well along the way.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
