3 years agoMiami Marlins top pitching prospect Sixto Sanchez (shoulder) will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, according to sources. The hope is that the 22-year-old will be ready for spring training in 2022. Sanchez was shut down before the season started, and reports say there was a slight tear in his shoulder, but rest and rehab was recommended over surgery. That plan clearly did not work, and now Sanchez will need to go under the knife. It's a lost season for Sanchez, who flashed some of his upside in 39 big league innings in 2020.
