Sonny Gray Earns Fourth Win
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Sonny Gray picked up the win in a 7-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Gray wasn't particularly sharp, allowing four runs on six hits over five innings while striking out seven and walking two. He benefitted from seven runs of support from his own offense, including a pair of three-run homers in the second inning. Gray now has a 4-6 record, 4.44 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 103 strikeouts over 81 innings of work. He has scuffled of late, posting a 5.56 ERA over his past seven starts. Gray will face off against the Atlanta Braves next time out.
