4 years agoCincinnati Reds starter Sonny Gray (back) said he is hopeful he will be able to pitch in the final week of the regular season, according to Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Inquirer. Gray suffered a strained back during his most recent start, a five-run shelling against the Chicago Cubs. Gray's return likely hinges on whether or not the Reds are still in the thick of the playoff race by the final week of the season. They currently sit two games out of a wildcard spot, and Gray would likely line up to face the Minnesota Twins if he does return.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
