4 years agoCincinnati Reds right-handed pitcher Sonny Gray will be tabbed to start the club’s final game of the 2020 regular season versus Minnesota, with Trevor Bauer being saved for Game 1 of the Wild Card series. Being moved up also means that Gray would start a potential Game 3 in that series. Through his first seven starts in ‘20, Gray appeared just as much a Cy Young contender as Bauer, but Gray has accumulated a 5.34 ERA over his last seven starts. He’ll face a stacked Twins offense Sunday, and is not likely to overextend with the club wanting to make sure that he’s ready to go for the postseason.--Jesse Borek
