Sonny Gray Strikes Out Eight In Five Innings
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Sonny Gray allowed three runs (two earned) over five innings in a 4-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Monday. Gray struck out eight and did not walk a batter in the no-decision. The veteran right-hander's only mistake was a three-run homer off of the bat of outfielder Ian Happ. Gray now has a 7-6 record, 3.88 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 135 strikeouts over 113 2/3 innings of work. He has a 4-0 record and a 3.11 ERA over his past seven starts as he looks to finish the season strong. Gray will face off against the St. Louis Cardinals next time out.
