3 years agoLos Angeles Rams running back Sony Michel faces a tough test on Sunday in a crucial showdown with the San Francisco 49ers. On one hand, this is one of the only games in Week 18 where both teams have something to play for; the 49ers and trying to clinch a playoff spot, while the Rams are trying to ensure a home game for the first round. As a result, we can expect Michel to see his normal workload, which has been close to 100% of all running back carries without Darrell Henderson. Even if Cam Akers makes his return in Week 18, he is not expected to play much. However, the 49ers have been a really stingy run defense of late, ranking as the best run defense in the NFL since their bye week. Additionally, over the last month, the 49ers allow the 2nd-fewest fantasy points to running backs and only 3.0 yards per carry while ranking 27th in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. As a result, the Rams may choose to take to the air against the 49ers, which makes Michel a bit riskier than he's been in recent weeks. You're still starting him in season-long leagues, but he might not be the best DFS play, even with his secure role.--Eric Samulski - RotoBaller
