Sony Michel, Two Other Patriots Land On Reserve/COVID-19 List

4 years agoNew England Patriots running back Sony Michel (undisclosed), offensive lineman Shaq Mason, and defensive end Derek Rivers have all been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Sunday’s game versus Denver. Placement on the list does not necessarily mean that players had to test positive for the virus, with it also being utilized for those who have been in close contact with others who have tested positive for COVID-19. The game between Denver and New England has been somewhat snakebitten over the past few weeks, finally having been moved to Sunday due to continuous positive tests. At this stage, there is no reason to believe the game won’t go on, with Damien Harris and James White expected to handle much of the workload out of the backfield.--Jesse Borek
