4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Spencer Howard (back) was scratched from his earlier start due to back spasms. Howard was slated to pitch two innings against the Yankees, though manager Joe Girardi isn't concerned with the ailment, saying that the 24-year-old should be good to go in a couple of days. Howard flashed big-time strikeout ability in the minors but suffered from an inflated WHIP, as well as a tendency to give up the long ball. His potential warrants rostering him in dynasty formats, though investors in redraft leagues might want to look elsewhere for young, upside starters.--Tim Capurso
