4 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies have announced their starting rotation for the next five games, and their top pitching prospect Spencer Howard is not scheduled to start. There was growing optimism that the Phils would call up the hard-throwing right-hander, but we'll have to wait at least another week. With the postponement of their games this week, Aaron Nola and Zack Wheeler will pitch Friday/Saturday on normal rest, and Vince Velasquez will start the fifth game next Wednesday. Howard's best shot at a rotation spot is taking over for Velasquez, who struggled mightily on Sunday, but we'll remain patient for his inevitable big-league debut.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
