Spencer Howard Spins Three Good Innings At Yankees
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Spencer Howard threw three shutout innings in a start at the Yankees on Wednesday. Howard allowed a hit and a walk while striking out two. The rookie has been good in a limited capacity for Philly, but will need to prove he can pitch deeper into games to be a fantasy asset. The first time through the batting order, Howard has not allowed a run while giving up just a .106 batting average and a .179 wOBA. Things change once batters have some familiarity with Howard, however. He's only faced 27 batters the second time through the order and has allowed six hits, six walks and eight earned runs with a .516 wOBA allowed. Howard remains a strong dynasty prospect, but redraft managers have little use for what Howard provides.
