Spencer Howard Throws Live Batting Practice
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Spencer Howard (knee) has returned to the mound to throw live batting practice at Phillies camp. Howard, the Phillies second-ranked prospect, injured his knee in February during a pre-camp workout and is yet to appear in Spring Training action. Updates on the 23-year-old right-hander have been positive, however, as he's reportedly hitting 98-99 MPH with his fastball with all three secondary pitches looking good as well according to Phillies director of player development Josh Bonifay. Howard a must-own prospect in dynasty leagues and will be a name to monitor in redraft leagues when he joins the Phillies sometime this season.
