3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Spencer Howard will stay in the starting rotation and start on Saturday against the Nationals. The Phillies are managing their top-pitching prospect's innings, so they could've skipped his turn thanks to back-to-back off days. Instead, it appears they are lining up their top-three pitchers to face the Braves next week. That leaves Howard to face the Nationals who have the third-lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching.
