Spencer Steer To Play Regularly
2 years agoCincinnati Reds shortstop prospect Spencer Steer will be in the lineup "as much as possible," according to manager David Bell. Steer, the team's No. 7 prospect per MLB Pipeline, came over from the Minnesota Twins at the trade deadline in the deal that sent right-hander Tyler Mahle to Minnesota. He's making his major league debut on Friday, starting at third base and batting seventh against Colorado Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland. The 24-year-old will have a chance to impress the organization down the stretch after he hit a combined .274/.364/.515 with an .879 OPS, 23 home runs, 75 RBI, 80 runs scored and four stolen bases in 106 games with Triple-A St. Paul and Triple-A Louisville. Steer deserves a look in NL-only and deep mixed leagues the rest of the way.
