6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Spencer Turnbull (3-5) turned in a so-so effort in Wednesday's 4-0 setback to Tampa Bay. Turnbull allowed three earned runs on five hits and three walks in five innings of work while striking out four. He wasn't helped by his defense as the Tigers had a couple of miscues that proved to be costly. With the loss, the rookie right-hander falls to 0-3 with a 3.17 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and a .264 average against along with a 40:17 K/BB ratio over 37 innings in seven starts this season at Comerica Park.--Daniel Benjamin
