Spencer Turnbull Transferred To 60-Day Injured List
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Spencer Turnbull (forearm) was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Wednesday. The Tigers made the move to create space on the 40-man roster for relief pitcher Ian Krol. Turnbull was previously placed on the 10-day injured list on June 5. The starter reportedly had a setback in his throwing program. He could return in early August if everything goes well. It's unfortunate news for both the Tigers and fantasy managers. Prior to landing on the injured list, the right-hander was in the midst of a breakout campaign, having pitched to a 2.88 ERA and a 2.95 FIP in 50 innings. He'd also struck out 44 batters while walking just 12 and surrendering only two home runs. If you have pitching depth or injured list slots in your league, it's worth stashing Turnbull for the time being.
