5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte went 2-for-4 with a double (11th of the season) in Tuesday's 11-6 setback to the Reds. The 30-year-old center fielder has been inconsistent all season but may be starting to turn things around. He has posted a .360/.484/.720 slash line with two home runs, four RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base over the past week. More importantly, Marte drew four walks although he also struck out four times during this stretch -- he had drawn just three walks and struck out 32 times prior to the last seven games.--Daniel Benjamin
