6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates center fielder Starling Marte (abdomen) made his only hit in six at-bats count, clubbing a two-run home run in the top of the 11th for a come-from-behind, 6-4 victory over Texas on Tuesday. Marte had just been activated from the 10-day injured list earlier in the day. He struck out three times earlier in the game, but his dinger wound up being the game-winner. Marte is a very welcome re-addition to a team fresh off an eight-game losing streak, where they only scored 18 runs total. He's slashing just .200/.241/.400 with three homers, 11 RBI and nine runs this year. While the home run was a nice touch, he'll need to gain some consistency going forward in series against the Athletics, Rangers and Cardinals.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
