Starling Marte On The Yankees Radar
3 years agoFree-agent outfielder Starling Marte is drawing interest from the New York Yankees, per Brendan Kuty of the Star-Ledger. According to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, the Yankees are citing centerfield as a possible upgrade. New York was in the mix to trade for Marte during last season's trade deadline, but the speedy outfielder was ultimately traded to Oakland. The 33-year-old produced in 2021, slashing .310/.383/.458 with 12 home runs, 55 RBI, 89 runs scored, and 47 stolen bases over 526 plate appearances in 2021. Marte led the majors with 47 stolen bases and is expected to go within the first few rounds of upcoming fantasy drafts whether he signs with the Yankees or elsewhere this offseason.
