Starling Marte Out In Game 1 Wednesday
2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (hand) is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Marte was hit by a pitch on his right hand on Tuesday and is undergoing tests, but skipper Buck Showalter said, "so far, so good." It appears that the 33-year-old has avoided any structural damage to his hand, but don't be surprised if he misses both games of the doubleheader on Wednesday. For now, fantasy managers should consider Marte to be day-to-day. With Marte sidelined, Tyler Naquin is starting in right field and batting seventh against Pirates right-hander Duane Underwood Jr. Naquin has been much better against righties in 2022 and has 10 home runs in 84 games while hitting .240 on the year. He'll be a deep DFS sleeper on Wednesday.
