2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Starling Marte reached base in all four of his plate appearances Tuesday, going 2-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base against the Cincinnati Reds. Marte was also picked off first base, giving him 10 stolen bases in 16 attempts this season. Fantasy managers have come to expect a slightly higher rate of success from Marte on the basepaths, but there are surely no complaints about his .306/.379/.541 slash line with five homers, 23 runs scored, 14 RBI, and three stolen bases over his last 30 games. Marte is among the final candidates to start the All-Star Game among NL outfielders, and this late surge makes him a worthy choice.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
