Starling Marte Says He's Day-To-Day
2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (quadriceps) said that he's day-to-day and that he expects to avoid the injured list. That's contrary to a report earlier in the day that the Mets anticipated placing him on the injured list after leaving Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres with left quadriceps tightness. The 33-year-old remains out of the lineup on Wednesday, with Nick Plummer entering the lineup as the designated hitter while batting ninth against Padres left-hander Sean Manaea. It remains to be seen if Marte will actually avoid an IL stint, but he's been a must-start in fantasy this year with a .277/.316/.441 slash line, seven home runs, 33 RBI, 36 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 225 plate appearances and 50 games. Plummer and Luis Guillorme will see more playing time if Marte is placed on the IL.
