4 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Starling Marte (rib) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday. Marte will see his first game action since April 28, when he was forced to leave in the middle of an at bat after suffering a fractured rib. Marte has been swinging and taking live batting practice for a few days. The Marlins reportedly don't expect a long rehab assignment for Marte, but want to make sure he's healthy enough to play consecutive days without any setbacks. It sounds like he could be back in the lineup by the weekend if everything goes well. The Marlins offense has been desperately missing Marte's bat in the lineup.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
