2 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers and wide receiver Diontae Johnson agreed to a two-year, $36.71 million contract extension on Thursday, according to a source. The two sides worked it out on Wednesday night and Thursday morning to end Johnson's training camp hold-in with a shorter deal than we've seen from the other high-end receivers that have gotten paid this offseason. It was reported recently that the two sides were still far apart in contract talks, but they were able to work something out before the start of the regular season to keep the 26-year-old in town through the 2024 season. Johnson has gotten better in each of his three NFL seasons and made his first Pro Bowl in 2021 while reaching the 1,000-yard mark for the first time. He has 20 touchdowns and will be a WR2 in fantasy in his fourth NFL season, but Pittsburgh's QB situation gives him some bust potential in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
