Steelers Draft Pat Freiermuth
4 years agoWith the 55th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers have selected Penn State tight end Pat Freiermuth. Pittsburgh entered this draft with some big offensive line needs, but went skill position with their first two picks. Freiermuth is the second tight end selected after Kyle Pitts, but the Penn State product just doesn't have the same upside that Pitts has. His best college season was in 2019, when he caught 43 passes for 507 yards and seven touchdowns. He can do it all on the field when it comes to blocking and receiving, but there are a lot of mouths to feed in this Steelers offense, so Freiermuth doesn't need to be on your radar in redraft leagues, especially with Eric Ebron currently on the roster.
