Steelers Strike Deal For Ahkello Witherspoon
3 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers defense received a boost Friday when they swung a deal with the Seattle Seahawks to acquire cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon. Witherspoon had inked a one-year deal worth $4 million with Seattle in free agency, but ultimately will not suit up for the franchise after four years spent as a division rival with the 49ers. Witherspoon appeared in 47 games (33 starts) during his time with San Francisco. His addition further strengthens the Pittsburgh secondary, with Joe Haden and Cameron Sutton likely to hold down primary duties out wide. Currently coming off the board as a top-3 defense in most fantasy drafts, the addition of Witherspoon does not nothing but boost Pittsburgh's stock further.
