Stephen Strasburg Allows Four Runs in 2019 Debut
6 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg began his 2019 season with six innings of work in a no-decision on Saturday, allowing four runs on seven hits, with two walks and eight strikeouts in Washington's 11-8 loss to the New York Mets. Strasburg allowed all four runs in the first two innings before settling into a groove. Overall he threw 18 of 27 first pitches for strikes and got 16 whiffs on 96 total pitches. While he didn't do much for fantasy purposes outside of the strikeouts this time, Strasburg should be a valuable starting pitcher this season after a somewhat down year in 2018.
