4 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg (shoulder) is slated to pitch in one more outing before he is deemed ready to return to the big league rotation. Strasburg has pitched in two simulated games already, throwing about 60 pitches in his latest outing, though the Nationals want him to build up his innings and pitch count one more time before they give him the green light to return. The team wants him to pitch five innings and hit the 75-pitch mark in his final tune-up, either in an official rehab start, or in another simulated contest. At any rate, Strasburg appears close to returning after making just two starts in 2021 due to shoulder inflammation. The Nationals- and fantasy managers- hope he looks like the pitcher who went 18-6 with a 3.32 ERA and 251 strikeouts compared to 56 walks across 209 innings pitched in 2019.--Tim Capurso
