Stephen Strasburg Sharp In Spring Debut
4 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg made his first start of spring training on Tuesday and allowed no hits in 1 2/3 innings with four strikeouts. Strasburg's own main takeaway was the strength of his fastball command. Spring is always a time for optimism but the continued signs that Strasburg is healthy after last year's carpal tunnel injury can only be a good sign. Yes, something else could pop up at any time, but the career arc and 3.32 ERA, 3.17 xFIP, 29.8 K%, 1.04 WHIP, etc. from his 2019 campaign is more important. He's Rotoballer's 26th-ranked SP this preseason which makes him a reasonable #2 starter with his high ceiling.
