4 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg (hand) threw from flat ground on Thursday as he works his way back from a nerve issue in his pitching hand. He incorporated off-speed pitches for the first time, and his next step is to throw off a mound. The right-hander was scratched ahead of his season debut last weekend and is at least another week away from joining the Nats rotation. Manager Davey Martinez said he may throw a sim game over the weekend, but it won't be necessary for him to return to the club.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
