Stephen Vogt Active For Saturday's Game
3 years agoAtlanta Braves newly acquired catcher Stephen Vogt has been activated for Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. To make room for Vogt on the roster, the Braves have designated catcher Jonathan Lucroy for assignment. Vogt will presumably be in a backup role to Kevan Smith until Travis d'Arnaud returns at some point in the second half from injury. Vogt has slashed .212/.307/.386 with five home runs, 17 RBI, 17 runs and no stolen bases this season. There isn't much value in Vogt, but he may be an option in very deep two-catcher leagues if he can find regular playing time against right-handed pitchers.
