Sterling Shepard Activated From PUP List

2 years agoThe New York Giants activated wide receiver Sterling Shepard (Achilles) from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Wednesday. Shepard has been recovering from a torn Achilles that he suffered last year and is now ready to practice in training camp. The 29-year-old played in a career-low seven games in 2021 because of injuries and caught 36 of his 53 targets for 366 yards and only one touchdown. It's good news for the Giants to get another receiver back with the regular season quickly approaching, but rookie slot receiver Wan'Dale Robinson may have already earned a starting role inside to begin the season next to Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney. As of right now, Shepard is more of a fourth wideout in New York, and he'll have to prove himself in order to get more opportunities.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
