Sterling Shepard Could Lead Giants In Catches
3 years agoNew York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard is having a strong camp and could lead the team in receptions in 2021, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN. "The connection with quarterback Daniel Jones was working," said Raanan. Jones and Shepard have shown great chemistry during camp, and Raanan "wouldn't be the least bit surprised" if the Giants WR led the team in catches. Shepard had a modest season in 2020, hauling in 66 receptions on 90 targets for 656 yards and three touchdowns while rushing six times for 49 yards and a touchdown over 12 games. The 28-year-old will compete with Kenny Golladay, Darius Slayton, Evan Engram, and Kadarius Toney for targets in the Giants' passing attack. Shepard has an ADP of 174 and is currently going as WR64 in NFFC leagues. The former second-rounder has dealt with multiple injuries throughout his career but has WR5 upside if he can stay healthy.
