7 years agoToronto Blue Jays utilityman Steve Pearce has been on the shelf with a calf sprain this spring but it sounds as if his return could be right around the corner. Pearce started running on Sunday and will continue to do so on Monday. If that goes well, he could be playing by Thursday. After looking like Pearce could have a starting gig in Toronto’s outfield this year, the acquisitions of outfielders Curtis Granderson and Randal Grichuk likely mean he’s shifting back to his normal left field/first base/designated hitter utility ways. Pearce isn’t worth a fantasy investment in redraft leagues but could be worth a cheap start every once in a while in DFS formats.--John Smith
