6 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Steve Pearce finally returned to the lineup after being out with an oblique injury since May 3, and what a return it was. On Friday against the Los Angeles Angels, Pearce finished 3-for-4 with a double, his second three-hit outing of the season. It was a great return to be sure, but the biggest issue here is playing time. With a crowded outfield featuring Pearce, Teoscar Hernandez, Randal Grichuk, Curtis Granderson and Kevin Pillar (who isn’t going to be displaced in center field), consistent playing time is going to be very hard to come by. Pearce is best left as a free agent in shallow mixed leagues.--John Smith
