4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates left-handed pitcher Steven Brault will get pushed up to start Sunday against the Tigers due to a sore ankle that has been bothering right-hander Joe Musgrove, who has been scratched. Brault appeared out of relief Friday, but threw just 32 pitches without recording an out. In three appearances (two starts) in 2020, Brault has combined to work just five innings, having allowed four runs while walking five. With the Tigers’ offense having erupted for double-digit run totals in each of the past two contests, Brault holds little season-long or DFS intrigue. For Musgrove, his next chance to take the mound comes next week, as he too is off to a rough start this year, leading the Majors with 11 walks. Slated to have been the Bucs’ ace, Musgrove has lost all three of his starts and boasts a 6.75 ERA.--Jesse Borek
