Steven Brault to Start Thursday Against Reds
7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates left-hander Steven Brault is set to start against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday after Joe Musgrove (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Monday. Brault was one of the club's best pitchers in spring training (3.77 ERA), but he was sent to the bullpen to start the season. The 25-year-old has made one appearance this season, throwing three scoreless innings with three strikeouts and one walk. Without a plus repertoire, however, Brault doesn't bring much fantasy upside. He has a 4.35 ERA and 16.9 percent strikeout rate in 49 2/3 career innings as a starter.
