Steven Duggar Could Start Opening Day
7 years agoDespite the San Francisco Giants signing outfielder Austin Jackson in the offseason, outfielder Steven Duggar has a chance to earn the nod on Opening Day for the Giants. Outfielders Andrew McCutchen and Hunter Pence will hold down the corners, but Duggar’s defense is above average and he has put up good numbers in the minor leagues. This past season, Duggar dealt with a hip injury but hit .262 with six home runs and 10 stolen bases across Rookie ball, Single-A and Triple-A in 44 games. There is a good chance he will get at-bats even with Jackson in the picture. For now, he is better suited for dynasty leagues but is someone to keep a close eye on in mixed leagues.
