Steven Souza Jr. Not Making Good First Impression With New Team
7 years agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Steven Souza Jr. went 0-for-4 as well as getting ejected in the 2-1 loss to the Washington Nationals. Souza Jr. made his Diamondbacks debut on May 3 of this year, and since then, has only managed to pile up a 3-for-25 line, giving him a .120 batting average so far. All three of the hits were singles as well, so his slugging percentage is exactly the same as his batting average, giving him an ugly .361 OPS this year. Souza Jr. has never really been able to put up good batting average seasons, however, showed upside when he hit 30 home runs last year with the Tampa Bay Rays and will certainly pick up his pace hitting in one of the best hitter's ballparks in the major leagues. He should be owned in deeper formats, while in shallower formats, he will be a player you ride while they're hot, which most certainly isn't right now.
