Strong Sense Mitchell Trubisky Lands With Giants
3 years agoAn NFL team in the thick of things for a competitive backup quarterback in free agency has a strong belief that Buffalo Bills impending free-agent quarterback Mitchell Trubisky will wind up signing with the New York Giants to compete with Daniel Jones for the starting job in 2022. General manager Joe Schoen and new head coach Brian Daboll both came from Buffalo, where Trubisky was Josh Allen's backup in 2021, so the connections are certainly there. Trubisky -- a former second overall pick of the Chicago Bears in 2017 -- hasn't started a game since his final season in Chicago in 2020, but he could win the battle over Jones, especially if Jones isn't past his neck issues.
