4 years agoWashington Nationals relief pitcher Tanner Rainey allowed a two-run home run to Zach McKinstry in Washington's 3-0 loss to the Dodgers on Sunday. Rainey has now allowed four runs with just one strikeout in two innings in 2021, and this coming off the heels of a poor spring. Rainey is someone who, if closer Brad Hand were to get injured or falter, would be under consideration for saves but if he doesn't right the ship, that won't be happening. This would seem to make Daniel Hudson the saves handcuff in D.C., but Hand is in no danger of losing his job and pitched a scoreless ninth Sunday.--Nathaniel Green
