7 years agoNew York Mets infielder T.J. Rivera has been out since June 2017 with a partially-torn UCL, and the latest word is the team does not expect him back until July. He would have been back sooner had he elected for surgery instead of rehab right away; he didn’t undergo Tommy John surgery until September 2017. The 29-year-old Rivera has been a solid contributor for the Mets, slashing .290/.330/.430 with five home runs, 13 doubles, and 27 RBI across 73 games last season while playing first base, second base, third base, and the outfield. He’s not likely to come into significant fantasy value, but if he can continue to improve there may be some intrigue with a player who has a nice degree of multi-position eligibility.--John Smith
