Zemgus Girgensons also scored for the Sabres, who have suddenly hit form with five wins in six games. Thompson has had a big part in the recent surge and it's been a great breakthrough campaign overall for him, as the 24-year-old has tallied 48 points across 60 outings. Thompson has had six multi-goal efforts in total and only nine players have managed more in 2021-22.
