Taijuan Walker Diagnosed With UCL Injury
7 years agoArizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo revealed that an MRI taken of starting pitcher Taijuan Walker's elbow showed damage to his UCL, a usual precursor to Tommy John surgery. However, Walker will go for a second opinion before opting for season-ending surgery. Walker had started his 2018 season pitching to a 3.46 ERA and a 9/5 K/BB ratio after pitching to a 9-9 record with a 3.49 ERA and a 146/61 K/BB ratio in 2017. If Walker decides to undergo Tommy John surgery, he would be out for the remainder of the 2018 season, leaving a big hole in the Diamondbacks and fantasy owners' rotations.
