Taijuan Walker Named N.L. All-Star
3 years agoNew York Mets right-hander Taijuan Walker struggled in his final start of the first half, going just five innings pitched allowing two earned runs on four hits and three walks against the Pirates on Friday night. Walker, who also struck out two batters, struggled with his control but battled through his five innings of work. The Mets went on to rout the Pirates 13-4, though Walker did not factor into the decision. Following the game, manager Luis Rojas announced that Walker was named to the N.L. All-Star team. This marks Walker's first time being named an All-Star. He finishes the first half of the season with a 2.50 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, and 89 strikeouts in 90 IP over 16 starts. Walker has been a huge addition for the Mets and fantasy teams in 2021. He should continue to provide fantasy managers with excellent production through the second half of 2021.
