3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Taijuan Walker went seven innings on Wednesday against the Orioles allowing just five hits, one walk, and one earned run while striking out nine in the Mets 14-1 rout. Walker improved to 5-2 on the season. He now owns a 2.07 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, and a 60:24 K:BB in 61 innings pitched on the season. Wednesday's outing was a nice bounceback for Walker coming off a rough outing against the San Diego Padres in his last start. Walker has been a tremendous asset for the Mets, in light of the injuries to Noah Syndergaard (elbow) and Carlos Carrasco (hamstring) and the poor performance of David Peterson. If he can get his walk rate under control, his ratios would even be more impressive, as exemplified on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should continue to keep Walker active for his next scheduled start on Tuesday at home against the Cubs.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
